Designed in 1939 by John Bredemus, co-founder of the Texas PGA and the Texas Open, the course carries significant historical prestige. The course gained prominence as the venue for the "World Championship Four-Ball Match," which featured legendary golfers Ben Hogan, Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, and Jimmy Demaret—representing a notable moment in golf history.
