Gulf Winds Golf Course is an 18-hole, par 71 course located at Naval Air Station Corpus Christi in Texas, stretching 6,410 yards from the championship tees. The course began as a rudimentary 6-hole layout that opened in 1955 and expanded to its current full 18-hole configuration following a final expansion in 1985. The facility features wide-open, forgiving fairways with small greens, making accuracy on approach shots crucial. Water hazards including two ponds and a creek impact play on six holes, adding strategic challenge despite the course's moderate yardage.

The course is maintained in excellent condition by military personnel who exchange course maintenance for reduced green fees. Signature features include Hole 18, a 420-yard par that plays into the wind with out-of-bounds danger on the left, providing a challenging finish. At only 5,700 yards when played at shorter tees, the course is susceptible to low scoring in calm conditions. The facility includes a full-service clubhouse with men's and women's locker rooms featuring showers, a pro shop offering custom club fitting services, a driving range, and practice greens. Access is available to military personnel and civilians through MWR Guest Card membership.
