The golf course at Old Overton Club is an 18-hole layout located in Vestavia Hills, Alabama, within the Liberty Park Community just outside Birmingham. Designed by professional golfer Jerry Pate and architect Tom Fazio, the course opened in 1993. The design was shaped from the natural terrain with a mission to transcend the surrounding residential development. The club maintains a well-appointed practice facility alongside the main championship course. Old Overton Club has received significant critical acclaim, having been rated by Golf Digest as one of the best new private courses in 1994. It is currently ranked as one of the top five private golf courses in Alabama by Golfweek. The course has also hosted the Annual Jerry Pate National Intercollegiate Tournament, reflecting its standing in the golfing community. The club operates as an invitation-only private facility, offering a full calendar of social and recreational events. Alongside the golf amenities, the club features a 20,000 square foot clubhouse with several dining options, a resort-style pool, and a state-of-the-art tennis facility. The golf program is led by Director of Golf Erik Broka and First Assistant Golf Professional Zack Campbell.
