Old Hickory Golf Club is located in Woodbridge, VA and features a par-72, 7,190-yard championship layout designed by architect Tim Freeland, who previously worked for golf legend Gary Player's design firm and also designed Raspberry Falls Golf and Hunt Club. The course is bisected by Beaver Creek with approximately nine holes on each side, and features naturally integrated terrain where designers left earth unaltered on about half the holes. The course is characterized by gently rolling terrain covered with pine, oak, maple, and hickory.

Old Hickory Golf Club is a challenging course with lots of creeks to cross, but it accommodates golfers of all skill levels. Every hole features bunkers but is not overly bunkered, and the course uses A4 bent grass on greens known for creating fast playing surfaces. Four sets of tees are available with generally elevated tee boxes, and fairways are wide and open with mounded sides designed to bounce balls toward the middle.
