Old Fort Golf Club is an 18-hole public facility established in 1985 and owned and operated by the City of Murfreesboro. The par-72 course sits along the Stones River and borders the historic Civil War earthen fort at Fortress Rosecrans. Following recent renovations, the course stretches to 7,214 yards from the back tees, while the forward tees play 5,002 yards. With six sets of tees and a layout known for both challenge and playability, Old Fort is regarded as one of Tennessee's premier public courses.
The course plays primarily within a horseshoe bend of the West Fork Stones River with holes bordered by mature hardwoods and natural native areas. Par fours at four and seven set up with tee shots over the river, and the 12th and 16th holes share a St. Andrews-like double green. The municipal course received a comprehensive renovation in 2024 from architect Nathan Crace.
Old Fort hosts a number of championship events such as Collegiate Tournaments, USGA Boys and Girls Junior Amateur Qualifiers, Tennessee Golf Association, and Tennessee PGA Section tournaments.
