Old Course

The Old Course at Lahinch Golf Club is an 18-hole links course located on Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way, positioned near the Burren National Park and approximately 10 kilometers from the Cliffs of Moher. Established in 1892, the course has been shaped by legendary architects including Old Tom Morris, Dr. Alister MacKenzie, and Dr. Martin Hawtree, each contributing to its evolution while preserving its traditional links character.

The course traverses spectacular dune landscape with varying elevations, featuring natural contours, valleys, and hollows that define the challenging layout. Notable holes include the famous Dell (Par 3), Klondyke (Par 5), and Brud's Vision (Par 4), the latter serving as the course's index 1 handicap hole. The course presents considerable difficulty with strategic bunkering and well-protected greens requiring precise shot-making. Playing conditions demand careful club selection and strategic positioning, with fairways that run out at varying distances and elevated greens requiring uphill approaches.
