Designed in 1947 by noted course architect Perry Maxwell, creator of Tulsa's famed Southern Hills, Oakwood Country Club features an 18-hole championship course. The course plays at par 71 with yardages of 6,694 yards from the white tees and 6,885 yards from the blue tees, holding a course rating of 74.4 with a slope rating of 134. The tree-lined bermuda fairways and rolling bent-grass greens create a challenging test for all golfers. Located in the heart of Enid, Oklahoma, Oakwood Country Club has been the social and sporting centerpiece of northwest Oklahoma for over seventy years, with a member-owned private club offering a championship course surrounded by mature oaks, rolling fairways, and carefully placed water hazards.

The par-71 layout offers challenges for skilled players yet remains approachable for mid-handicap golfers, with strategic bunkering, natural streams, and doglegs that demand shot shaping. The course offers a mix of narrow driving corridors and open landing zones, testing accuracy and distance control, with greens known for their pace and subtle breaks that reward those with a sharp short game. The course is the site of numerous state and regional golf events including a US Open Championship qualifying tournament.
