Nikko Kirifuri Country Club ☆ Follow

Nikko Kirifuri Country Club is located at 1538-18, Soino, Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture 321-1421, approximately 10 minutes by car from JR and Tobu Nikko Station. Situated at an elevation of 900 meters on Kirifuri Plateau within Nikko National Park, the 18-hole course gently slopes southward. The terrain features natural topography with trees separating the holes, including larch forests and mountain azalea communities. The setting offers views of Nikko city, Utsunomiya city, and Mount Tsukuba in the distance.

The course was designed and supervised by renowned Japanese professional golfer Tsuyoshi Nakajima, who emphasized harmony with the natural landscape. The layout preserves the existing terrain, with woods separating the holes to create a strategic playing experience. The clubhouse was designed by architect Junzai Yoshimura and features deep engawa (verandas) that blend the building with the surrounding natural environment.

Nikko Kirifuri Country Club is part of a 1,000,000-square-meter sports and leisure complex that includes Hotel Japan Nikko and La Pomme Kirifuri. The course is described as offering strategic play opportunities while maintaining family-friendly functionality, integrating with the surrounding forest environment rather than imposing upon it.
