Nickol Knoll Golf Club is a 9-hole golf course built on 56 acres in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The course features distinctive topography with three holes showcasing vertical drop tee shots and three holes with uphill approaches to the green. The most notable feature is Payton's Hill, the 3rd tee, named after Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Walter Payton, who used the site for his training routine during his thirteen NFL seasons. The hill was dedicated in 2000 to honor Payton's legacy. On clear days, golfers can enjoy views of the Chicago skyline from the course. The layout presents moderate challenge through its elevation changes across the terrain. The facility includes a golf shop staffed with PGA professionals, a snack bar, and a clubhouse featuring Walter Payton memorabilia. A walking/biking path encompasses the course, and golf carts are available on a first-come, first-served basis. The course operates seasonally and is managed by the Arlington Heights Park District.
