Designated as a champion course by designer Chen Qingbo, You-I Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 layout spanning 6,906 yards from the back tees. The course is situated in Munakata, Fukuoka Prefecture, offering expansive views of the Genkai Sea. The routing is divided into two distinct nine-hole sections: the Out course, known as the Genkai Course, and the In course, referred to as the Tsuyazaki Course. The design challenges golfers with a variety of terrain features, including sloping greens, doglegs, and strategic hazards that require careful shot selection. The front nine presents a mix of long par fives and technical par fours. The first hole is a 553-yard par 5 that curves gently to the right, while the third and fourth holes are demanding par fours of 422 and 453 yards respectively, featuring long straights and vertically elongated greens. The sixth hole, a 550-yard par 5, forces players to decide between going for the green in two or laying up safely. The eighth hole is a 349-yard par 4 with a right dogleg, where the approach shot is the primary test. The ninth hole concludes the front nine with a 350-yard par 4, featuring a fairway bunker that guards the center of the landing area. The back nine opens with a wide 564-yard par 5 on the tenth hole, where the fairway width offers freedom off the tee but carries an out-of-bounds risk to the right. The eleventh hole is a 430-yard par 4 that plays as a downhill, left-doglegging shot toward the sea. The twelfth hole is a 411-yard par 4 with a left dogleg and a large green free of bunkers. The thirteenth hole is a 229-yard par 3 that plays slightly downhill, requiring precision to avoid the slopes. The fourteenth hole is widely considered the signature hole of the course. This 567-yard par 5, described as a famous snake-like long hole, requires a strategic approach to avoid the "Hell Valley" hazard, making it a critical scoring opportunity or trap. The fifteenth hole offers a contrasting 321-yard par 4 with a clear approach to the green. The sixteenth hole is a 228-yard downhill par 3 where the right side is a dangerous hazard. The seventeenth hole is a short 295-yard par 4 that plays as a two-shot hole, with a green fronted by water. The eighteenth hole serves as the home hole, a 422-yard par 4 where avoiding a central fairway bunker is essential for a strong finish.
