Genkai Golf Club is a 18-hole, par-72 course located in Munakata, Fukuoka Prefecture, Japan. Situated on flat terrain, the course is characterized by pine forests and offers views of Mount Yagawa and the Genkai Sea. It is recognized as a tournament course that has hosted the 2026 Japan Senior Open Golf Championship and is scheduled to host the 2029 Japan Open Golf Championship. The layout features a mix of uphill and downhill holes, with several par-3s and par-5s providing strategic variety. The 1st hole is a 498-yard par-5 featuring a prominent pine tree on the right fairway, while the 15th hole is a 196-yard downhill par-3 that offers views of the Genkai Sea and potentially the UNESCO World Heritage site of Oki Island. The 7th hole is a 180-yard downhill par-3 known for its views of Mount Yagawa. Difficulty is managed through various tee placements, with course ratings ranging from 64.8 to 74.7 and slope ratings from 116 to 148 depending on the tees selected. Hazards include cross bunkers, water hazards on the 5th hole, and out-of-bounds areas on several holes, including the 4th, 8th, 9th, 11th, 12th, and 16th. The course also features elevated and penalized greens, such as the 12th and 13th holes, which require precise approach shots.
