The Musashino Golf Club is a 18-hole, par-72 course located in Hachioji, Tokyo, set within a 590,000-square-meter hilly terrain. Designed by Nobukatsu Marumo with renovation by Seizo Tomizawa, the layout opened in November 1960. The course is characterized by a distinct contrast between its front and back nine: the outward nine is relatively flat, offering straightforward tee shots, while the inward nine features significant elevation changes and slopes that demand precise approach shots for successful score management. The club’s 6,580-yard length from the back tees presents a moderate challenge, reflected in a Course Rating of 69.5 and a Slope Rating of 129 from the back tees. The difficulty increases with the terrain, requiring accurate ball striking on the undulating back nine. The course features both Korean bentgrass and bentgrass greens, allowing for varied playing conditions depending on the season. The setting is defined by its integration with the natural Musashino landscape, finished with a Japanese garden aesthetic that creates a calm atmosphere. The wooden clubhouse, which has accumulated history since the club's founding, offers views of the Okutama mountains, the Shinjuku subcenter, and the Tokyo Skytree from its second-floor restaurant. The facility includes a 12-stall, 200-yard driving range and rental equipment for clubs and shoes.
