Mt. Hope Golf Course

Mt. Hope Golf Course is an 18-hole layout located in Guys Mills, Pennsylvania, situated on gently sloping terrain amid mature woods and open meadows. The course was developed by the Smith and Poly families, with the original nine holes opening in May 1993 and an additional nine holes added in 2001 following the purchase of 127 additional acres.

Designed by Merle Smith with family input, the course features a core, strategic layout that emphasizes thoughtful club selection. The design incorporates diverse elements including water hazards, sand and grass bunkers, trees, and meadows. The greens, averaging 6,300 square feet, were built to USGA specifications and originally seeded with bentgrass. The course is characterized by its well-conceived variety of holes that reward golfers seeking an excellent round while taking in the character and charm of the landscape, which reflects a century of farming heritage.
