Mountain Valley Country Club was founded in 1964 by a group of golf enthusiasts who sought to create a premier destination for golfers in the region. The 18-hole course features 6,542 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 71, with a course rating of 70.4 and a slope rating of 118. The course layout includes a variety of holes ranging from par 3s to par 5s, with rolling fairways, beautiful water features, and strategically placed bunkers.

The course experienced a decline in popularity due to several factors, including increased development in the surrounding neighborhood causing runoff and flooding damage to the grounds, as well as an economic downturn and decreased discretionary spending from the COVID pandemic starting in early 2020, leading to its closure in 2022. The former country club has since been reborn as a permaculture ecological institution, with the legacy living on as a sustainable community committed to preserving the natural beauty of the land.
