The Short Course features 18 holes, all par-3, with a par of 54 and length of 2,310 yards. Back in 1961 course architect Jack Snyder originally laid out a short, par-56 resort course that in its heyday was a hotspot for money games among club and touring professionals as well as a magnet for celebrities. Golf course architect Forrest Richardson completely redesigned the course, which originally opened in 1961.

The Short Course at Mountain Shadows, nestled in the foothills of Camelback Mountain, offers a scenic layout and a challenging round of golf for players at all skill levels. Holes range from 75 to 200 yards, creating a unique and challenging golf experience. Notable features include the tough-as-nails No. 4, "Biarritz," with its uphill climb to a Biarritz green features a sunken swale that traverses the putting surface, the beloved No. 7 "Jutty" is an ultra-short hole across the water to a peninsula green that juts out into the famous Mountain Shadows Resort Scottsdale pond, and the "Punchbowl" No. 10 is a secluded, pocketed green with stunning views of Camelback Mountain's Camelhead.

You can play all 18 holes in less than three hours, or play 9 holes in an hour and a half. The course features completely re-constructed greens and surrounds with a distinctive "tier" element that provides a much more challenging putting environment.
