Moss Creek South Course is an 18-hole championship golf course located in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, within the private Moss Creek residential community. Designed by George Fazio, the South Course features 6,885 yards of play from the championship tees with a par of 72, a course rating of 73.4, and a slope rating of 130 on Bermuda grass. Originally constructed in 1974, the course underwent significant renovation and regrassing of all eighteen greens in 2015 under the direction of golf architect Clyde Johnston.
The course is situated in the Lowcountry setting of South Carolina, winding through magnificent oak trees, tall maritime pines, and strategic water features including large ponds, water tributaries, and tidal salt marshes that change with the twice-daily tides. The layout emphasizes fair and challenging play for golfers of all skill levels, with strategically placed sand bunkers and elevated greens. Wildlife including alligators, egrets, hawks, eagles, and wild turkeys are commonly observed throughout the course.
Moss Creek South is a private members-only course that serves as one of two championship courses within the Moss Creek gated community. The facility includes a full-service pro shop, practice range, putting greens, and a clubhouse with dining options and member amenities.
