Montrose Golf Links is home to the 5th oldest golf course in the world, featuring two distinctive links courses with over 460 years of golfing heritage. The historic 1562 Championship Course, ranked No. 43 in Scotland's Top 100 Courses, has been described as "a magnificent stretch of marvellously natural ground" and presents a challenging test with undulating fairways and fast greens that become more difficult when coastal winds blow inland from the sea. The complementary Broomfield Course offers a shorter but equally demanding links experience, characterized by small greens that require precision and finesse.

Both courses are set within stunning coastal scenery typical of Scottish links golf, with natural terrain features creating unpredictable playing conditions. The courses cater to golfers of all abilities, from beginners to experienced players seeking a serious challenge. Montrose serves as an Open qualifying venue and hosts tournaments throughout the year. Excellent short-game facilities, including a pitch and putt course, support player development alongside professional instruction and group coaching programs.
