Methven Golf Course

Methven Golf Course is an 18-hole country golf course located 1 hour south of Christchurch, New Zealand, off Inland Scenic Route 72. The course is renowned for its spectacular views of Mt Hutt Ski Area and the Southern Alps, set within a landscape of evergreen and deciduous trees and shrubs that create tree-lined fairways with excellent variation.

The layout features large greens characteristic of country golf courses, presented in excellent condition. A notable water hole on the back nine adds challenge to the design. The course is described as an easy walking layout suitable for golfers of all abilities, though it maintains sufficient challenge and variation throughout.

Methven GC is recognized as one of New Zealand's finest country courses. The facility operates year-round and welcomes visitors and members alike. The clubhouse overlooks the course and Southern Alps, accommodating events for up to 140 people. The club hosts organized competition days on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday mornings, with casual golfers welcome to participate. Practice facilities and equipment hire are available on-site.
