Meadowlands Golf Club is tucked just over the state line near Calabash, North Carolina. Designed by architects Willard Byrd and David Johnson, the course features par 3's with mostly open carries over water, while the par 4's demand precision and respect. One of the most memorable holes is Hole 3, measuring 480 yards from the tips with water coming into play twice—the tee shot must clear a long expanse of water, and the approach shot must clear water again to reach a demanding two-tier green. The course spans 7,054 yards artfully sculpted around pristine freshwater lakes and natural vegetation, with unforgettable holes bordered by serene meadows, mature hardwoods and vast wetlands.
Five sets of tees, an open layout, well-defined hazards and exemplary attention create a rewarding round for everyone. The course was named one of the "Top Ten Best New Courses" by North Carolina Magazine when it opened and also earned a spot on Golf For Women's Top 100 Women-Friendly Courses. The overall atmosphere at Meadowlands is that of a respite from the hustle and bustle of city life, with the facility featuring a well-manicured farm feel reinforced by the rough-hewn farmhouse-style clubhouse with its large porches.
