The 18-hole Masterpiece course features 7,007 yards with a par of 71 and is designed by Robert Trent Jones and opened in 1987. The course is located at the headwaters of the Pigeon River and takes full advantage of natural valleys, ravines and broad plains. When Masterpiece opened in 1987, Golf Digest named it the #2 new resort course in the United States.

The Masterpiece Course is the most difficult course at Treetops Resort and perhaps the entire state, with one of the highest slope ratings at 147. The course features many bunkers, water hazards, consistent elevation changes leading to multiple ravines with forced carries. Thin greens require pinpoint accuracy when approaching.

The signature sixth hole features a 120' vertical drop and a panoramic view of the Pigeon River Valley. Golf Digest named Masterpiece to its Top 10 list of Favorite Fall Foliage Courses in the US.
