Martis Camp Golf Course

Course Information Unclaimed

Martis Camp Golf Course is an 18-hole championship course designed by Tom Fazio, located in North Lake Tahoe near Truckee, California at an elevation of approximately 6,200 feet in the High Sierra mountains. The course stretches 7,751 yards with a par of 72, featuring a rating of 76.7 and slope of 146, making it a challenging layout. Opened in 2008, the design blends seamlessly into the natural alpine topography with pines, firs, hemlocks, and rocky outcroppings framing nearly every hole.

The front nine takes advantage of dramatic elevation changes and mountain views of the Carson Range and Sierra crest, while the back nine plays through a more intimate valley floor setting, crossing Martis Creek on several occasions. Each hole was painstakingly adapted to the natural landscape. The signature 18th hole is a dramatic downhill par-4 that concludes beneath a towering 70-foot granite wall, home to the Camp Lodge clubhouse.

GolfWeek named it "one of America's top 50 modern golf courses." The course has hosted notable tournaments including the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship, where Scottie Scheffler won. The course is private and open only to Martis Camp Club members and their guests, operating seasonally from May through October.
