Mar del Plata Golf Club, founded around 1890, is one of Argentina's earliest golf facilities. Located in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires Province, the club features two distinct courses.
The Cancha Nueva, inaugurated in 1956, is a park-style course designed by Ricardo W. Mackinlay. Set on 50 hectares with abundant trees, it comprises 18 holes with a length of 6,257 yards (men's) and 5,678 yards (women's), playing to par 71 and 73 respectively.
The Cancha Vieja, located at Playa Grande, is an authentic Scottish-style links course featuring undulating terrain, sandy base, and narrow fairways. It measures 6,052 yards (men's) and 5,560 yards (women's), playing to par 70 and 72. The course also includes a nine-hole layout designed by Jack Park for junior players.
Both courses reflect different design philosophies—the newer course emphasizing parkland characteristics while the older course maintains traditional links architecture. The club's Tudor-style clubhouse and comprehensive amenities including a restaurant, pro-shop, and golf school serve both members and public visitors, establishing it as a significant golfing institution with over 125 years of history.
