Makino Park Golf Course is an 18-hole public course located in Hirakata, Osaka, situated along the Yodo River. The layout is characterized by wide, flat fairways that allow for generous, powerful shots, particularly on the longer holes. The course is designed to be accessible to golfers of all levels, from beginners to advanced players, while still offering challenges for those seeking to lower their scores. The course features a mix of par 3, 4, and 5 holes, with yardages varying by tee. The back tees total 6,600 yards, with the par 72 layout including two par 5s over 500 yards (the 5th and 7th on the front nine, and the 11th and 16th on the back). The 7th hole is a 570-yard par 5 from the back tees, while the 11th is a 580-yard par 5. The shortest holes are the 3rd and 15th, both par 3s, with the 15th measuring only 140 yards from the back tees. A notable feature of the course is the quality of the greens, which are described as having excellent condition and are known for their good surface quality. The fairways are generally wide and flat, but players must navigate hazards such as bunkers, out-of-bounds areas, and water. The 1st hole is a 410-yard par 4 with a green that slopes from back to front, requiring careful approach shots. The 7th hole, a long par 5, features a two-tiered green and a bunker 50 yards from the green that can lead to big numbers if not avoided. The course is maintained with high-quality soil, resulting in good turf conditions. During the summer, the rough is cut short to minimize lost balls, making it easier for players to find their shots. The course is part of the Shin Nihon Kanko Group, which operates several other golf courses in the region.
