Loughrea Golf Club Top 100 Review

Loughrea Golf Club is a par 71 parkland course measuring 5,825 metres from the blue tees, located in Graigue, County Galway, approximately 20 minutes from Galway City. The course features naturally draining soil that permits year-round play on greens and tees.

The layout has been extended and refined over the years to provide a challenging yet fair test for golfers of all abilities. The course is known for its excellent conditioning and has earned recognition from the Connacht Branch Championship Committee as the 'Best presented course in Connacht' in 2011.

Loughrea has hosted numerous GUI events including Connacht Junior Cup provincial qualifiers and Connacht Cups and Shields Finals. The club maintains a strong tradition of welcoming visitors and societies, complemented by facilities including a clubhouse bar and restaurant offering panoramic views of the course. The venue operates a weekly Open Day every Wednesday throughout the year and can accommodate groups, parties, and special occasions.
