Lobden Golf Club

Lobden Golf Club is a moorland course founded in 1888, located in Whitworth on Lobden Moor. The 18-hole course measures 5,661 yards from the white tees with a par of 70, providing a moderate length layout suitable for golfers of varying abilities. Despite not being exceptionally long, the course presents a significant challenge through its primary defences: thick rough and strong winds that test even skilled players. The moorland setting and exposed terrain create demanding playing conditions, particularly in windy weather. The club is registered as a Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC), welcoming players from the entire community. The course offers an accessible yet challenging golfing experience, with the natural moorland characteristics and weather conditions serving as the main difficulty factors rather than extreme length.
