Lindsey Golf Course is an 18-hole championship golf course located on Fort Knox Army Installation in Kentucky, constructed in 1933 and named after Major General Julian R. Lindsey, who was instrumental in its original layout and design. The course features rolling terrain with contoured Bermuda grass fairways that accommodate both long and short hitters, offering five sets of tees in Bermuda and Zoysia grass suitable for tournament players and weekend beginners alike. Two strategically placed lakes enhance the course's aesthetics and provide irrigation water via a modern satellite-controlled double row irrigation system. Lindsey gained prominence in 1943 when it hosted the Kentucky State Open, won by PGA legend Byron Nelson with a score of 236 (-8). The course welcomes military personnel, retirees, corporate groups, and the general public, offering a relaxing atmosphere ideal for team building exercises, outings, and special events. The facility includes a pro shop stocked with equipment and apparel, and provides both private and group golf lessons. Open year-round, Lindsey offers individual, family, and corporate membership options.
