Larters at St. Andrews Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole course located in the Rural Municipality of St. Andrews, Manitoba, approximately 20 minutes from downtown Winnipeg. Opened in 1989 on the site of the former Larter farm, the layout is distinguished by its combination of Scottish links-style characteristics and a unique prairie woodlot setting. The course rambles through a distinctive river-lot landscape, transitioning between densely wooded areas and wide open meadows, while offering views of the Red River. The course is designed to prioritize accuracy over distance, a challenge that becomes apparent from the tee boxes. It features three sets of tees—black, blue, and white—allowing players of varying abilities to test their skills. The course rating and slope figures indicate a significant difficulty, particularly for those playing from the forward tees, where the layout demands precision to navigate the numerous hazards. The fourth hole serves as the signature hole, presenting a demanding par four where water guards the left side and out of bounds lines the right. The layout is punctuated by several other challenging holes, including the sixth, the longest par four on the course at over 450 yards from the blue tees, and the seventh, which is noted as the hardest par three from the white and blue tees. The course also features large, multi-tiered greens that require careful approach shots and putting strategy. Water hazards play a critical role in the course design, appearing on several holes including the island green on the drivable par-4 13th and the water guarding the 12th green. The 18th hole provides a classic risk-reward finish, reachable in two shots by long hitters but guarded by water on the right and trees on the left. The course includes a full practice facility with a driving range, practice greens, and bunkers, alongside a clubhouse featuring a restaurant and pro shop.
