La Cumbre Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-70 course located in La Cumbre, Córdoba, Argentina. Designed by Juan Dentone, who also created the Mar del Plata Golf Club, the layout spans 6,011 yards and is set against the backdrop of the local sierras. The course was established in 1924, with its construction beginning on land acquired from the San Gerónimo Estancia. The fairways are planted with Bermuda grass, while the greens utilize Tifway turf, providing a surface known for its speed and consistency. The terrain is characterized by a unique design that avoids natural water hazards, relying instead on a significant number of artificial obstacles and dog-legs to challenge players. A distinctive feature of the course is the use of local grasses to create "contoured cuts" that form island-like areas, forcing golfers to adapt their strategies. The layout includes numerous bunkers and requires precision, with the club maintaining a competitive classification since the installation of a modern irrigation system in the 1980s. The club has a rich tournament history, hosting the first PGA Professional Tour event in Argentina in April 1999. This tournament, held from April 5 to 11, was won by Eduardo Romero, who was followed by Paraguayan player R. Fretes. The course has also been the site of the Primera Gran Premio La Cumbre since 1958, featuring notable professionals such as Roberto de Vicenzo and Leopoldo Ruiz. Annual competitions include the Club Championships, which began in 1959, and the Gran Premio de Semana Santa. Beyond the golf course, the facility offers a full-service environment for members and visitors. The club house provides views of the sierras and houses a restaurant, bar, and pro-shop. Additional amenities include a practice area with a green, chipping zone, and bunkers, as well as tennis, squash, paddle, and swimming facilities. The club currently serves over 900 members and continues to maintain its grounds with modern machinery and ongoing improvements to its irrigation infrastructure.
