Kurihashi International Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course located in Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan. Situated in a river floodplain, the layout is characterized by strategic grass bunkers and mounds that challenge golfers despite the generally flat terrain. The course was designed by renowned Japanese tour professional Tadashi Enomoto, who incorporated a variety of hole shapes, including doglegs and unique water carry shots, to ensure a strategic test of golf. The course offers two distinct turf options: Bentgrass and Korean Bluegrass greens, each with varying yardages and course ratings. The Bentgrass configuration plays from 5,292 to 6,812 yards, while the Korean Bluegrass layout ranges from 4,966 to 6,452 yards. The par-72 layout features a front nine totaling 3,428 yards and a back nine of 3,384 yards. Notable long holes include the 633-yard 3rd and the 570-yard 13th, while the par-3s range from the short 153-yard 14th to the 221-yard 12th. Enomoto’s design philosophy emphasizes strategic decision-making, utilizing the natural riverine setting to create distinct challenges. The course hosts internal club championships and various member events, reflecting its role as a competitive venue for local golfers. With a Course Rating of 72.5 and Slope Rating of 131 for the Bentgrass tees from the back markers, the course provides a rigorous test for skilled players.
