Klerksdorp Golf Club is the oldest golf club in the Old Transvaal and together with Kimberly Golf Club the 5th oldest Golf Club in South Africa established in 1889. The course grew from a 9 hole course with greens made of "blougrond" to a progressive challenging and well manicured 18 hole golf course. The par of Klerksdorp Golf Club is 72. The length of Klerksdorp Golf Club is 6379 yards. Klerksdorp Golf Club has Bent/Skaapplaas greens and Kikuyu fairways.

The first nine crosses the park area and has a few deceiving holes. The fourth is a par 4 stroke 3 which requires a well placed drive, brilliant second and two great puts for par. The fifth hole has the spruit along the fairway so keep right and don't miss the green left. The second nine start off with a par 5 which lures the long hitters to go on for two - the green is well banked. The next two par threes is in direct contrast - the 11th hole measures 222 meter for the men and 210 for women while the 12th hole is only 110 and 108 meters! The next par 4 is stroke 2, again flanked by the Schoonspruit on the right and around the green. The 18th is a reachable par 5 with the green in full view of the clubhouse.

Currently Klerksdorp Golf club offers a modern design and course layout for the serious golfer. Fully equipped clubhouse with bar, restaurant, conference and function facilities are available.
