Kaituna Golf Club

Kaituna Golf Club is a 9-hole course located on Kaitorete Spit, approximately 48 kilometers south of Christchurch near the Akaroa Highway. The course is situated in a distinctive coastal setting with a firm, free-draining base featuring tussock and grass surfaces. Notable characteristics include scattered trees throughout the layout and challenging rough conditions that test players' recovery skills.

The course remains playable year-round due to its excellent drainage properties, making it an attractive option during winter months when other courses may be unplayable. Recently renovated facilities include a new irrigation system for the greens, and the course is reported to be in its best condition in several years. The terrain is relatively open and exposed to coastal elements typical of the Kaitorete Spit location. Kaituna offers a fun, accessible golfing experience suitable for various skill levels, combining the challenge of firm ground conditions and demanding rough with the recreational appeal of its unique landscape setting.
