The Jewel Golf Course comprises two distinct nines separated by a mile-and-a-half on Mackinac Island, Michigan. The Woods Nine, designed by Jerry Matthews in 1994, features nine holes showcasing views of the Mackinac Bridge and the Upper Peninsula in the island's interior. Together with the Grand Nine (built in 1901, redesigned in 1987), the course totals 18 holes.

The Woods Nine is characterized by its scenic island setting and challenging layout. A signature hole is the par-3 7th, which ranks among Michigan's top 18 holes due to its combination of difficulty and panoramic Pure Michigan scenery. The course is notable for its unique feature: horse-drawn carriage rides transport golfers between the two nines, offering views of areas typically unseen by visitors.

The Woods Nine operates seasonally, open May through mid-October. The course is open to both hotel guests and the general public, with driving range facilities available for warm-up practice. The layout demands a leisurely pace, with the last 18-hole round departing at 1:04 PM to accommodate transportation between nines.
