JC Melrose Country Club is an 18-hole course featuring 6,000 yards of golf from the longest tees with a par of 70, a course rating of 68, and a slope rating of 121. Designed by Perry Maxwell, the course opened in 1912. The course is located at 7600 Tookany Creek Parkway in Cheltenham, Pennsylvania. Located along the Philadelphia border with a suburban feel, the course is enclosed by residential neighborhoods and features gentle slopes with narrow, bending fairways. The course was in its heyday when Cheltenham was an upper-class Jewish neighborhood and has transitioned from a fully private club to fully public in recent years. Hole 8 is noted as one of the toughest par 3s in Philadelphia, and hole 17 is also a challenging hole. The 116-acre property includes a full 18-hole golf course, driving range, indoor/outdoor bar, club lounges, and a golf pro shop.
