J Golf Tsurugashima is a public 18-hole golf course located in the Oku-Musashino Natural Park in Hidaka, Saitama Prefecture, Japan. Opened in December 1978, the course was designed by Hiroshi Hatate of Fujita Corporation. Situated within a hilly landscape, the layout utilizes the natural elevation changes to create a strategic challenge for golfers of all skill levels. The course features Bentgrass greens and offers a total length of 6,813 yards from the blue tees, with a par of 72 and a course rating of 70.1. The terrain is characterized by rolling hills, doglegs, and significant elevation changes, including both uphill and downhill shots. The front nine begins with a par-5 first hole that plays slightly downhill onto a wide fairway, requiring careful navigation to avoid out-of-bounds on the right side. The fifth hole presents a straightforward par-4 with a gentle downhill tee shot, though players must manage the out-of-bounds area behind the green. The sixth hole is a demanding par-5 dogleg right that plays uphill from the second shot, offering the potential for a two-shot approach for longer hitters. The back nine introduces more varied challenges, including the long par-3 thirteenth hole, which measures 191 yards from the blue tees and requires precise club selection to avoid out-of-bounds on the right. The course concludes with a scenic par-5 eighteenth hole, measuring 501 yards from the blue tees. This hole features a water hazard guarding the front of the green and offers views of the clubhouse and surrounding hills from the second-shot position. The layout is designed to test strategy through doglegs, valley crossings, and water hazards, ensuring a balanced experience for both beginners and advanced players.
