Ironwood Hills Golf Club is a nine-hole, par 34 course located in Kaulapuu on Molokai's north coast mountains. Built in 1928 as a descendant of Hawaii's original plantation courses, it features 3,088 yards from the longest tees with a course rating of 35.0 and slope rating of 130. The plantation-style layout is surrounded by eucalyptus trees and sits on sloping terrain with dramatic elevation changes.
The course offers expansive views of the Pacific Ocean, neighboring Oahu, and Molokai's towering sea cliffs from many holes due to its high elevation. Well-kept elevated greens and firm fairways create surprising approach shot results, particularly when trade winds are blowing. It operates with minimal infrastructure—no tee times, no pro shop, and no traditional clubhouse—maintaining a relaxed, casual atmosphere characteristic of Hawaii's golf heritage.
As Molokai's only golf course and one of the most accessible public layouts in Hawaii, Ironwood Hills appeals to golfers of all skill levels. The course is managed by the PGA Golf Professional and provides an informal yet well-maintained golfing experience that emphasizes enjoyment over competition.
