Houndslake Country Club features a 27-hole championship golf course designed in 1974 by renowned architect Joe Lee, who also designed Doral, La Costa, and Disney World courses. Located in Aiken, South Carolina, the course is set amid over 300 acres of lush greens, thousands of colorful azaleas, and majestic dogwoods in the sand hills region.
The course comprises three nine-hole layouts—Dogwood, Laurel, and a third nine—each measuring just over 3,300 yards and playing to par 36. The design accommodates both recreational golfers and competitive players seeking a memorable challenge. The courses wind through a quiet residential community with a mild, year-round climate ideal for golf.
Houndslake has hosted numerous prestigious tournaments, including the South Carolina Golf Association Amateur Championship (1977, 1981), South Carolina Golf Association Four Ball Championship (1982, 1984), South Carolina PGA Pro Junior events, United States Amateur Qualifiers, and serves as home to the Women's Eastern Golf Association Senior Championship. The facility also includes a clubhouse with dining, tennis courts, and an Olympic-sized swimming pool.
