Located in Miki City, Hyogo Prefecture, Higashihirono Golf Club is a 7,147-yard, par-72 championship course set across 119 hectares of hilly terrain. Designed by Yuki Kobayashi and supervised by Toyohiko Inui, the former president of the Japan Golf Association, the layout demands precision and distance management. The course features four distinct sets of tees, with yardages ranging from 2,717 yards on the red tees to 3,541 yards for the front nine and 3,606 yards for the back nine on the blue tees. The front nine presents a mix of long par-5s and technical par-4s. The opening hole sets the tone as a wide, uphill par-5 where the second shot landing area is critical. The ninth hole continues the uphill theme, featuring a large green with a central depression that requires precise pin placement to avoid three-putts. The back nine introduces more strategic challenges, highlighted by the par-3 seventh. While considered the most straightforward of the course's four short holes, it becomes difficult when the pin is back, as the green slopes from the mountain side toward the water, testing putting skills. The closing holes offer dramatic finishes. The eighteenth hole is a demanding par-5 where powerful hitters can attempt to reach the green in two, but a water hazard guards the front of the putting surface. Even conservative approaches must navigate water on both the left and right sides, making distance control and accuracy paramount. The course also features a clubhouse with a restaurant and a driving range, providing a complete facility for its members.
