Hidden Hills Golf and Country Club is a 72-hole championship golf course located in Jacksonville, Florida, designed by Arnold Palmer. Situated at the highest point in the Greater Jacksonville area, the course is carved into a hilly terrain that provides rolling fairways and elevation changes rarely found in the Sunshine State. The layout spans 6,892 yards from the championship tees, with a course rating of 74.0 and a slope of 136. The property features five sets of tees—Gold, Blue, White, Green, and Red—allowing for varying yardages and difficulty levels to accommodate golfers of all skill levels. The course is characterized by its intricate design, featuring a mix of long, medium, and short holes, sharp doglegs, and strategically placed water hazards. Majestic pines and oaks line the fairways, while the greens are known for their undulation and elevated positions. The layout includes five par-3s, six par-4s, and five par-5s, with the front nine totaling 36 holes and the back nine also totaling 36. The course rating and slope vary by tee box, ranging from a 70.5 rating on the Red tees to a 74.0 rating on the Gold tees, providing a challenging yet accessible experience for the average golfer. The signature hole is the 11th, a 612-yard par-5 that requires a carry of over 210 yards from the back tees. This hole features a lake guarding a slightly elevated, island green, making it one of the most demanding and exciting holes on the course. Other notable holes include the 5th, a 184-yard par-3 that sits at one of the highest points in Duval County with an elevated green protected by bunkers, and the 7th, a 181-yard par-3 surrounded by water on all sides. The 15th, a 535-yard par-5, presents an uphill challenge with moguls in the fairway and a camel-backed green that slopes away at the back. Hidden Hills has a rich tournament history, having previously hosted the Greater Jacksonville Open, a tournament that eventually evolved into the TPC Sawgrass. Notable winners at the course include Hall of Famer Gary Player, Tony Jacklin, and Don January.
