Hickory Valley Golf Club is located in Gilbertsville, Southeastern Pennsylvania, near Allentown and surrounding communities. The facility features two 18-hole courses: the Ambassador Course (Par 71/72, 6,369 yards) opened in 1968, and the Presidential Course (Par 72, 6,721 yards) designed by Ron Pritchard and opened in 1996. The Ambassador provides a shorter, more approachable layout through mature hardwoods with gently rolling greens, though holes 9 and 13 present significant challenges. The Presidential course combines nine holes of original 1960s routing with nine newly constructed holes through an abandoned tree nursery, featuring wide fairways and bunkers on the front nine that tighten into tree-lined holes with smaller greens on the back nine. The final three holes are particularly demanding.
The Presidential Course has received recognition including a Golf Digest 4-star rating and ZAGAT Survey acknowledgment since its opening. The courses offer different levels of difficulty, with the Ambassador suitable for golfers of varying abilities and the Presidential presenting a more demanding test. The facility includes a driving range, putting greens, banquet facilities, a fully stocked pro shop, and outdoor pavilion accommodations. Hickory Valley operates as a public facility that welcomes both daily fee players and memberships.
