Hedsor Golf Course

Hedsor Golf Course is a nine-hole pay-and-play course located in Woodburn Common, Buckinghamshire, set on a flat plateau surrounded by woodlands. The course features a unique historical element: it occupies the site of a former airfield, with a half-mile grass runway still visible from holes 2 and 4, occasionally used by light aircraft with advance notice.

The layout totals approximately 3,179 yards across nine holes with a par of 32, playable in under two hours for casual golfers or around 3.5 hours for experienced players who complete a second nine using alternative tees. The course presents varied challenges despite the flat terrain, featuring multiple hazards including ditches, bunkers, lakes, and natural vegetation such as gorse and rhododendrons. Notable holes include the par-3 sixth hole, which plays over a prominent lake and has produced hole-in-ones, and the par-3 eighth with its large fronting bunker. The design balances accessibility for beginners with sufficient challenge for experienced golfers, combining scenic natural features with strategic hazards throughout the round.
