Granfields Country Club is a 72-hole course located in Mishima City, Shizuoka Prefecture, situated at the western foot of Mount Hakone with views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. The layout is divided into two distinct nines: the front nine, known as the "Village Landscape," features gently rolling terrain, streams, tea fields, and flower gardens designed to offer an open, relaxed playing experience. The back nine, or the "Hill Landscape," presents a more strategic challenge with dynamic elevation changes, narrow fairways, and large, undulating greens that demand precise distance control and shot placement. The course offers four sets of tees, with yardages ranging from 5,383 yards from the forward red tees to 7,257 yards from the championship black tees. The par is 72 across all tees. The front nine is anchored by the 1st hole, a 560-yard par 5 that plays downhill toward Suruga Bay, and the 5th hole, a 649-yard par 5 that serves as the handicap stroke 1 hole. The back nine features significant strategic holes, including the 11th, a 217-yard par 3 over a pond with a vertically oriented green, and the 14th, a 191-yard par 3 playing to a two-tiered green with a vertical drop of over two meters. Key characteristics include out-of-bounds areas on several holes, particularly on the 2nd, 10th, and 12th holes, which require accurate tee shots. The course features a traditional Japanese garden at the clubhouse, a practice putting green, and a large green complex on the back nine designed to preserve natural undulation. The course has hosted the 89th Japan Professional Golf Championship and serves as a venue for the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League.
