Gotts Park Golf Course

Gotts Park Golf Club is situated 3 miles west of Leeds city centre on the grounds of Gotts Park Mansion, formerly known as Armley House. The mansion was redesigned in 1812 by renowned architect Sir Robert Smirke in a mock Grecian villa style, with landscaping by the respected Humphrey Repton. The golf course opened on 8 April 1933 with nine holes and was subsequently developed into an 18-hole course by director of parks Thomas R. Trigg and Colin Robertson. The course remains a public leisure facility operated under a 999-year lease agreement with Leeds City Council, established when Wade's Charity took ownership of the mansion and grounds in 1928. The course offers both public play and membership options, with professional golf tuition available through a PGA Professional.
