Golf du Sporting Club de Vichy is an 18-hole championship course located on the banks of the Allier River near Vichy, France. The course was originally designed as a 9-hole layout by Arnaud Massy, the renowned French golfer and British Open champion, with construction beginning in 1907. The original clubhouse was designed by architect Gustave Simon and the course officially opened on May 1, 1908, making it a centennial golf course. The layout takes advantage of the scenic riverside terrain along the Allier, offering players a picturesque setting within close proximity to the city of Vichy. The course is now an 18-hole facility that hosts regional competitions, including Auvergne committee championships. The club offers golf instruction through qualified professionals and operates a practice facility. The course maintains traditional golfing standards, with summer greens and restrictions on motorized carts to preserve the playing experience and landscape.
