Golf de Rougemont
Course Information
Address:
Namur
Belgium
Located on the heights of Profondeville between Namur and Dinant, Golf de Rougemont is a member-owned club founded in 1988. The course presents an 18-hole layout with a par of 72 and a total length of 5,620 meters. The design emphasizes precision over length, featuring a variety of holes that do not resemble one another. The terrain is characterized by significant elevation changes, with many holes opening onto views of the Meuse valley and the surrounding Condroz hills. The club is housed in a castle from the early 20th century, typical of Mosan architecture with its two bulbous structures, which was fully renovated in 2019. The facility includes a panoramic terrace overlooking the valley. The course is known for its technical nature, often featuring narrow fairways and fast greens. While not extremely long, the course demands accuracy, with players navigating through varied landscapes that include views of nearby forests and quarries. The club operates on a membership basis, managed by volunteers, creating a unique atmosphere where members feel at home. Visitors are welcomed, and the club offers initiation programs for beginners. The course layout requires players to rely on skill rather than power, with the elevation changes and narrow landing areas adding to the challenge. The greens are described as excellent and very fast, contributing to the technical difficulty of the round.
