The Golf & Country Club Hohwachter Bucht is situated in the coastal landscape of Schleswig-Holstein, nestled between a large inland lake and the Hohwachter Bucht on the Baltic Sea. The facility spans approximately 120 hectares and was designed and built in 1992. The layout is divided into two distinct courses: the 18-hole Hohwachter Platz and the 9-hole Neudorfer Platz. The complex also features a 5-hectare practice facility known as the "Golfodrom," which contains 150 teeing areas for various distances and difficulty levels. The main course, the Hohwachter Platz, is a Par 73 layout that is split into an A and a B nine. It measures approximately 6,000 meters in length and is characterized by wide fairways, 43 bunkers, and significant water hazards, including an island green. This design provides a challenging experience for golfers of various handicap levels. The course can be played in conjunction with the Neudorfer Platz to create a full 27-hole round. The Neudorfer Platz, referred to as the "old lady" of the facility, is a 9-hole course with a Par 32. It measures 4,198 meters in length and is designed to be played for tournament scoring purposes. Unlike the main course, the Neudorfer Platz is open to the public and does not require membership in the German Golf Association; a course license is sufficient for play. The course is located near the historic Gut Neudorf estate, which dates back to 1523 and features a manor house and a protected oak avenue. The Golfodrom serves as a central practice hub for the club, offering a ring-shaped path that allows players to adjust their tee positions for varied practice scenarios. The facility also houses the Coast Golf Academy. The entire complex is rated with 4 Stars Superior and is designed to accommodate players from beginners to advanced golfers, offering a mix of scenic views and technical challenges.
