Golf Barrière de Deauville, opened in 1929, sits on the heights of Mont-Canisy near Deauville's center and is recognized as one of France's finest golf courses. Designed by renowned architects Tom Simpson and Henry Cotton, the facility spans 70 hectares and features two championship courses: the 18-hole Diane Barrière (5,919m, par 71) and the 9-hole Lucien Barrière (2,777m, par 36).
The Diane Barrière appears deceptively simple but becomes challenging with marine winds. The Lucien Barrière presents greater difficulty through dense rough, fast greens, and numerous bunkers. Both courses offer extensive sea and countryside views.
Historically, the course hosted prestigious tournaments including the Open de France, Ebel Match Play, and Air France Madame, attracting champions like Gary Player and Tony Jacklin. It now hosts the Lacoste Ladies Open de France, part of the Ladies European Tour, featuring Europe's top female golfers.
The facility includes a fully renovated clubhouse, practice areas with 20 covered positions, putting green, bunker, and approach green. The Golf Barrière Academy provides instruction for all levels, while TopTracer Range technology offers an immersive golf experience unique in Normandy.
