Golden Lakes Country Club is a 27-hole facility located in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan, designed by the renowned architect Daiei Design. The course is characterized by a flat terrain that strategically incorporates sand bunkers, grass bunkers, mounds, and numerous ponds featuring rocks and log edging. The water hazards are a defining feature, reflecting the club's name as the lakes shimmer with a golden hue during sunrise and sunset. The course is divided into three distinct nine-hole loops: Green, Blue, and Orange. The Green Course offers a back nine with a par of 36 and a length of 3,646 yards from the back tees, including a demanding 610-yard par 5 first hole and a 189-yard par 3 third hole. The Blue Course presents a slightly shorter challenge, measuring 3,352 yards from the back tees with a par of 36, highlighted by a 580-yard par 5 third hole and a short 162-yard par 3 fourth hole. The Orange Course rounds out the layout with a back nine length of 3,212 yards and a par of 36, featuring a 521-yard par 5 seventh hole and a 180-yard par 3 third hole. Strategic play is required throughout the layout, with specific holes recommended for driving distance and others for precision approach shots. On the Green Course, the ninth hole is noted for driving distance while the third hole tests accuracy. The Blue Course directs players to prioritize distance on the ninth hole and precision on the eighth, while the Orange Course suggests driving distance on the seventh and a near-pin approach on the third. The facility provides course ratings and slope ratings for men and women across all tee boxes, allowing for standardized handicap calculations.
