Gleneagles Country Club is a private 36-hole golf facility located in Plano, Texas, comprising the King's Course and Queen's Course. Both layouts were designed by renowned architects Bruce Devlin and Robert von Hagge, with the original courses opening in 1985. The Queen's Course spans 6,901 yards with a par of 71, while the King's Course stretches 6,806 yards, also playing to par 72. The courses are inspired by their namesakes in Scotland and feature parkland-style designs with links-inspired fairways framed by mounds, abundant water hazards, mature oak trees, and strategically placed bunkers.
Both courses present significant challenges to golfers of all levels, with the King's Course considered the tougher of the two due to its increased water and tree coverage. The Queen's Course underwent extensive renovations and reopened on April 5, 2024. The courses feature bent grass greens and are known for their creative and interesting hole designs, with water in play on nearly all holes. The facility includes a driving range equipped with TrackMan technology and a professional caddie program.
Gleneagles has gained international recognition, serving as the only United States site to host the IFQ (British Open Qualifier) for three consecutive years. The club remains one of the most challenging and respected golf facilities in the Dallas area, offering a comprehensive country club experience with amenities beyond golf, including dining, tennis, and fitness facilities.
