Glen Brook Golf Club is a regulation 18-hole municipal golf course, proudly owned and operated by Stroud Township in Pennsylvania. Designed by Robert White, the Glen Brook golf course opened in 1924. This 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches over 6,536 yards from the back tees with a slope rating of 123—making it a satisfying test for golfers of all abilities. Set amid the rolling meadows and scenic woodlands of the Pocono Mountains, Glen Brook offers a full-country-club experience without the premium price.
Glen Brook brings water into play on five holes and has relatively small greens. The course offers challenges to both professional and amateur golfers, with a variety of hole layouts, encouraging golfers to use their imagination as well as their full complement of clubs to navigate its 18 holes. Notable among the course's characteristics is its routing, which includes holes where you have to hit right over a busy street on holes 12 and 13.
Gene Tunney trained at Glen Brook Golf Club in 1926. Privately owned for eight decades, Glen Brook operated as a semi-private club supporting a great membership opportunity, while still providing public golf. In 2015 the course was named #8 of Top Courses in Pennsylvania by Golf Advisor.
