Tsukasa Kikusui Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in Tamana, Kumamoto Prefecture. The layout is designed to test accuracy and strategy, featuring a mix of long par-5s and challenging par-4s that require precise shot placement. The course offers multiple yardages to accommodate different skill levels, with the Mein tees measuring 6,661 yards for men and 3,336 yards for women in the front nine, while the Sub tees provide a slightly shorter configuration.

The front nine presents a variety of hazards, beginning with the 458-yard 1st hole, which carries a right-side out-of-bounds penalty and features a green guarded by bunkers. The 2nd hole is a 496-yard par-5 where players must decide whether to carry a water hazard located 110 yards from the green or lay up safely. The 6th hole is a 171-yard par-3 that demands a tee shot over water, while the 9th hole extends to 485 yards, requiring a drive that avoids water on the right and a depression on the left.

The back nine continues the test with significant water and out-of-bounds risks. The 12th hole is a 501-yard par-5 that starts with a downhill tee shot over water, followed by an uphill approach to a green flanked by out-of-bounds areas. The 15th is a 194-yard par-3 surrounded by out-of-bounds on the left, right, and rear, though the downhill tee shot offers some forgiveness if struck accurately. The 18th hole is a formidable 587-yard par-5, serving as the closing challenge for the round.

Key characteristics of the course include narrow fairways on several holes, such as the 11th and 14th, where missing the center can lead to difficult lies or penalties. Water hazards are a recurring theme, appearing on holes 2, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17, and 18. Bunkers are strategically placed around greens and in landing zones, particularly on the 1st, 7th, and 10th holes. The design emphasizes strategic decision-making and penalty avoidance.
